About us

The Economics Researchers Network was born due to the need to create a space between the Bank of the Republic and different universities in the country, aimed at academic coordination in Colombia. This group seeks to promote and promote economic research in the country and increase the dissemination of the work of different researchers at the national level, through an Annual Economy Congress and a repository.

Currently, the agreement covers 20 accredited Colombian universities and the Bank of the Republic and this number is expected to increase over the years. Likewise, the network has 100 researchers and affiliated economists, who will be updated annually according to the Ranking of Ideas RePec Author 10 Colombia for the month of December.

Additionally, for the purposes of network administration and management, a Board of Directors and a Technical Board were formed. The first is composed of the general manager of the Banco de la República and one of the members of its Board of Directors, and a rector, dean or program director representing a public, a regional and a private university. The second is composed of members who must ensure the increase in the dissemination of the Network and help its operation.

Finally, and with the aim of promoting research on issues related to discrimination and economic history, research sections on gender equality, race and economic history were created, which can be accessed by this means.

Expand the dissemination of academic research in different areas of this discipline, as well as promote collaboration among economic researchers, make visible the quality research done from the regions and expand the discussion around different relevant issues in economic matters.

The Network seeks to promote and promote economic research in the country that provides visibility to research that is published by researchers in economics who are members of the network at the national level, through an Annual Economy Congress and increase the dissemination of documents of work or other academic publications in your repository.

In the next 5 years, consolidate the Network of Researchers of Economy at the national level, as the main space that allows generating greater collaboration (interactions, alliances, and / or co-authorships) between economic researchers from different regions of the country.
